From students to businesswomen, Muslimahs and their styles shine in the streets of London! Words and photography by Zinah Nur Sharif.

Londoners express their diverse identities through imaginative styles, filling this magnificent city with colours, patterns and prints. I came across these four stylish sisters of different ages, backgrounds and occupations in the heart of London.

Seventeen-year-old art and design student Aslican Giftci likes to keep it casual; her style is a fresh and young take on elegance and simplicity.

Noura Abdullahi of east African descent has a boyish/swag style. Her outfits reflect her love for 90s hip-hop. The 22-year-old is currently working on her own streetwear collection whilst humbly working at Topshop’s London flagship store.

Recent Muslim convert Romina Rashid has embraced the hijab and is thus experimenting with new modest outfits and styles. The 29-year-old has a very distinctive casual and chic style; her love for colours is evident in her style. Originally from Germany, Romina is currently running her own hijab label, Al-Madina Hijabs.

Twenty-year-old Farhiya Hussen, currently in her final year of studying psychology and biology, has a characteristic style of mixing tribal prints with denim whilst rocking the turban.
